Discogs: Hot or Not

The way i understand it with Discogs is that the sale has to be completed with payment to have a sales history. Therefore, either the sale did not go through or the seller took it off the market. Since the record is not for sale now the seller removed it from his listings.

You forgot a common additional option. I have the record.

I don't usually look at Discogs. However I took a look today and noticed this

The picture sleeve shown for sale must be a photocopy, because I own the original sleeve with those exact autographs.
Anyway, it's the yellow vinyl pressing which never had a picture sleeve.

edit - oh I see how it works. The data (including sleeve picture) is from the discogs database, not provided by the seller. Obviously that system is not ideal, and can be very misleading for a potential buyer.

It can be if the seller is not careful to match the picture and/or the description of the record as described. I've seen bootlegs listed under originals because the seller did not want to make a separate addition to the database. I realize it is sometimes difficult to find the exact label, pressing, artist name, etc. correctly. I've made several mistakes matching names and labels as there were so many(sometime over 20). There have been times I was the first to have made the addition to the database. It can take some time to complete this which I think that is why some will list their records under the wrong release.

By "taking it off the market" did you mean it was not sold, or it was not sold on discogs? I took it as the former. If it was the latter, then my reply was non-responsive,
