The "similarity", I mean...

Electras (also Yardbirds obviously)

Stooges

More an influence than a copy, I concede. And most likely the Stooges heard the Yardbirds version, not the Electras. However the Electras has the same over the top guitar style.

In Texas well call it 'Jeff Beck-itis'. I feel a flare-up coming on every time I plug in an old Fender Esquire.
