G45 Ebay Watch

I watched it! But why?

What is the quantity of an USA DJ press? I mean I've never seen that "Lord and The Flies - Echoes" goes for that!

I doubt it had anything to do with the fact that it's a DJ press. Personally I wouldn't pay any extra for DJ pressings in general. It's because the record is so fantastic. But it's not quite worth the amount paid on this occasion.:boggle:

It's a bit more rare than Lord and the Flies, but this was the result of a two bidder war, so likely an anomaly.

The Lost Agency 45 was won by a US collector who has limitless financial resources. He will pay whatever it takes to land a 45 he wants. He has done so with soul 45s, rockabilly 45s, and funk 45s.
I think he overpaid by 2 grand.

Why, I guess some of the USA pressings were only an USA DJ press, I've read that the "regular" USA press had a quantity of 700 units? But what about the DJ press?

It's because the record is so fantastic.

nargh, its rare but reaches only a 5 on the Garage-o-Meter(1-10) ,it's my rating, sorry

same guy who won the Remaining Few-Painted Air and Heartbeats - Listen, huh

Is there more than one released mix of We The People-My Brother, The Man?? Don't have my TBM handy, stuck at work. My guess is the YouTube clip is from the reissue...

The 45 version is unique, the only place to hear it is on the Garage Punk Unknowns series (the 45 was mastered for inclusion). Other reissues feature a re-recorded version done in Nashville

Thanks Mike, when was this re-recorded?

Must've been done during their first trip to Nashville at Bradley's Barn when working with producer Tony Moon in the spring of '66.

Shame that version wasn't released then. Quite an improvement over the the initial release. Not bad, but not as powerful. Is there an acetate or was it only on tape?

Tape only.
I prefer the Hotline label version by far

The copy on eBay was where I heard it. Could have been the poor recording plus horrible condition that made seem less punchy. I'm sure hearing a cleaner copy would help. Thanks again!
