I doubt it had anything to do with the fact that it's a DJ press. Personally I wouldn't pay any extra for DJ pressings in general. It's because the record is so fantastic. But it's not quite worth the amount paid on this occasion.

It's a bit more rare than Lord and the Flies, but this was the result of a two bidder war, so likely an anomaly.

Yes, I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of that 45. He can't be happy with paying $6,500 and receiving $4,000, so I imagine the sale will be canceled somehow.

The Lost Agency 45 was won by a US collector who has limitless financial resources. He will pay whatever it takes to land a 45 he wants. He has done so with soul 45s, rockabilly 45s, and funk 45s.

Why, I guess some of the USA pressings were only an USA DJ press, I've read that the "regular" USA press had a quantity of 700 units? But what about the DJ press?

The 45 version is unique, the only place to hear it is on the Garage Punk Unknowns series (the 45 was mastered for inclusion). Other reissues feature a re-recorded version done in Nashville

Must've been done during their first trip to Nashville at Bradley's Barn when working with producer Tony Moon in the spring of '66.
