G45 Ebay Watch

I notice that it has been since July 8th since ShakeSomeAction has been around to tally up the recent G100 ebay sales... Things okay in them parts?
I second your concern. I'm really missing the tallies. It's true: you don't miss your water until your well runs dry.

I hope Jim will be back soon with the updates & that everything is ok. Maybe he is just in an euphoric daze after scoring the Freestone's Bummer Bitch original for $29.90 recently...

An original Alarm Clocks - No Reason To Complain went for $1285.66 yesterday - graded g+ - vg- but appearantly playing ok...

That reeks of an early '80s bootleg. Heard about it then but never saw a copy.

Yep, it's a boot. Or self-released or whatever the correct name might be. Info below clipped form an old Canconvinyl auction:

You are bidding on this 45 From The Haunted "1,2,5" b/w "8 O'Clock This Morning" on Amy(Jet) records JET-4001 from the early 1980s.

John Monk, lead singer and Jurgen Peter, rhythm guitarist and Bob Burgess from the Haunted decided to release the uncensored version of 1, 2,5 on a single in the early 1980s. The source of this release came from a master session tape. You've never heard 1,2,5 sound this clear. The pressing of this single was very limited to 300 promo copies. This is the source that was released on the essential pebbles CD. The original quality records release was censored due to a implied reference to a prostitute in this original version. This is the same recording as the version released on Quality records, except for the lyric change. The haunted later re recorded 1,2,5 in yet another version for their album on Trans World. This is the original real deal as you may have never heard it before.

The Capitol label version of "Owl..." is different than the earlier recorded version released on Piccadilly.

The Human Beingz 45 is not "impossible to find" so I would not bid more than $10 for a VG minus copy. Anytime a seller grades a record as VG minus, you can bet it's not even worthy of a G minus grade!

That's what I thought...on YouTube, the faster version is on Piccadilly and the slower version is on Capitol. Looks like I'll be passing on this one, as I would have preferred the Piccadilly version.

I'm not particular about condition, the song is what matters to me. Probably 10% of my records are in G condition.

I see the seller is Spinmore, the eBay front for a record store in Kent of the same name that's been there since the 1970s, they took over the original Kent record store, the place used to have listening booths in an upstairs alcove. I forgot they were still selling on eBay. I (and others) found some killer records there back in the day.

Yeah, I think I've seen them on MusicStack as well. Do you know if their grading is accurate?

The human beinz disc looks pretty beat up indeed, not to mention the tear on label, but if you want to have it, well I understand that too. I paid forty for my copy earlier this year outside eBay though, eBay can get crazy sometimes... Anyway, hope you get it for a fair price.

Well I think some more copies will pop up in the near future. The last one that sold a couple of months I was bidding and lost it by a split second literally. 800 seems a bit steep, taking into consideration the last copy went for 300 and change. But who knows.
Anybody knows about quantity on this record?

No idea, sorry. I think I've bought one record from them on eBay, it was not overgraded but it was clean. It will probably not be better than vg- and plays with audible noise. This record is not rare and there's still copies in decent shape around. Finding a M- one is hard. I agree with MTM that unless it's a clean copy, don't pay much for it. Unless for some reason you need it ASAP. If you can wait a few months, don't kill yourself over it. BTW the family who owns the store came from Youngstown so they often get local records from there....but it's been years since they've had anything that's actually rare and interesting.
