Hey kids! Collect The Whole Set!

This Ikon set is probably the most challenging of all 60s garage sets to collect, up there with the Mark VII series. I needed lots of good luck and the sleuthing services of Joey D to get this far (almost all known?).

It's great to a label scan of The Shadows Four. It's the one Fleetwood I doubt will ever find its way into the collection!

I appreciate you holding back for a while, Mark. But by now you've upped the ante so far that it becomes harder just to think of a worthwhile addition. You surely save that dizzying Orlyn group pic to settle the case once & for all, but how about a run down of the different YGMM variants for now?

That KNIGHTSMEN is a thing of beauty. You're still missing the SONS OF SOUND and the BOBBIES also BEAU JESSE and the CAUTIONS and the NERVOUS KATS EP. I'll have to find those for you this year.

There's lots of possibilities here Greg. I've done a few exotic label runs, but there are hundreds of smaller labels with just a few 45s per label. And many other ways to show 45s groupings, not just by label. I'm sure other members will kick in once the New Year festivities are out of the way.

Regarding YGMM, I have the Contact and the original IA, but I do not have most of the variants, not even the HBR version. When I first started collecting, I just wanted the music and I didn't care about variants, picture sleeves, inserts or other collectors' fetishes. I went for years like that, and only recently have I started to get into it. The result is, my collection is not very strong on artifacts other than the original 45 issues. There are members of G45central who have incredible collections of variants and picture sleeves. I'm hoping for some revelations...

That would be great! Have any of the ones you listed actually ever turned up?
Yes...CAUTIONS, NERVOUS KATS & BEAU JESSE...I've had 'em all three. BOBBIES & SONS OF SOUND have never turned up. The BOBBIES band members all said there was 100 pressed but none of them can find one. The SONS OF SOUND have never been located. In the master tape box it showed a picture of the label and said 100 were pressed. Rumored to have been from Chico, Ca. A band called the INMATES went to pick up their newly pressed 100 count box of 45s and there was a CLOSED...OUT OF BUSINESS sign on the door and they never knew what happened to the 45s. The MYMES said they had falling out with their manager and he never gave them any 45s. We thought they were all thrown out and non existant until you bought your copy.
