Hey kids! Collect The Whole Set!

That is the be all/ end all of collections. It's incredible to see them all assembled that like.

I'm pretty sure Tim actually used the stronger 20th Century Fox version of "Night of the Phantom" on BFTG, not the weaker original cut on Tiris. I could be wrong.

I'm sure no-one expected me to let this topic die without presenting the ultimate collection -
every 45 on Back From The Grave Volumes 1-8. The only items not shown are tracks taken from tapes and one acetate, the Groop "Alright". Everything else should be there, unless I slipped up somewhere.

Nice to know I once owned a BFTG record that the Boss doesn't have (I sold the Groop to Ray R, who donated the sounds to Tim).

I didn't know you had it before Ray. Where did you get it from Mike?

I knew Ray had it, but I didn't know he was selling it. It went to a collector in Ohio, and there it stayed. I once made an insane offer which was politely refused, so I gave up and closed the book on my BFTG collection 99.5 percent complete (vinyl 100% complete).

Here's my personal opinion as to which BFTG LP volumes are hardest to collect (starting with the hardest at the top):

(number of extremely difficult 45s to obtain / difficult / relatively easy)

Vol 8b (10/5/2)
Vol 8a (9/5/2)
Vol 7b (9/4/3)
Vol 6 (8/6/2)
Vol 7a (8/6/2)
Vol 4 (8/5/2)
Vol 5 (6/8/2)
Vol 3 (4/8/2)
Vol 2 (4/6/6)
Vol 1 (3/7/2)

I got it from Paul Major. Paul found it in an album someone sent him in the mail. Don't recall what that was, but there was some Australian connection to it (either the record or the sender). Someone originally thought it was the Australian Groop, but it was quickly figured to be from Ohio.

Strong gloss !

That is actually true for most of the discs, but I have noticed that the camera sometimes shows strong gloss even on some badly worn discs. It made me realise that you should never, ever try to grade a record from a photo, as in some cases they look a lot better than reality. It all depends on if you use a flash, or the positions of the lights or sun. Dust and mould specks on the other hand, shows up twice as bad as they really are.
