Thanks for your support Mike, and for helping to get the word out. Your blog posts are always highly informative and fun to read.
Although I did not personally know him, I am sorry to read the news and your loss. I am glad that Jim leaves you with good memories.(The following message was also posted on the G45 Supermarket Forum.)
A few weeks ago, while as I was doing an internet search for my old band mates, something I do periodically, I came across some sad news – Jim Fetrow, the original lead singer for the Knight Raiders, passed away on September 19, 2018, after a 2 1/2-year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. He was 69 years old. Jim was a hunter, wood craftsman and, of course, a music enthusiast. He was also known worldwide for his expertise in the sport of Traditional Archery.
Even though I only saw Jim a few times after the band broke up in 1968, I have fond memories of him, especially the cold, wintry day in February 1967 when we went to Edgewood Studios in Washington, D.C., to record two original songs. I’ve always considered Jim a friend and will miss him very much. Rest in Peace, Jim.
