Label pressing variations

Not sure if this is the correct section for this, but do not remember much discussion about this. If anyone know exactly why one slight variation in text is worth much more than the others? Example shown below:

I've noticed this on many other labels that one is more expensive than the other without explanation. I'm talking about Discogs that show all kinds of label text differences that ever noticed. Especially with Atlantic showing the PL, MO, SP letters showing the different places that they were pressed.

MO is Monarch in L.A.
There is a certain mystique that pressings from there are allegedly superior to pressings from say, Pittman or Terre Haute. So some MO presses become more desirable among that ilk of collector.

Ok, that could be the reason if that is the case with other collectors, but looking at Discogs sales history the **copy has more previous sales that the copy without. I did not check popsike or other type sites.

I think it's just as likely the buyer trusts one dealer's VG+ more than another dealer's. --Especially important with the above example, as I think both are polystyrene.

That could be the reason. I thought that Wand only made the Styrene for 45s, no?

Ok, but let me rephrase that question. What value would you give each copy?

Personally I wouldn't pay anything extra for a couple of **'s on a label. Unless they denoted something else, such as pressing quality. On the other hand, if one label had a picture of a devil's head on it, and the other equally rare pressing did not, I would pay more for the devil's head.

I don't blame you there, but it been happening. Also, on the Fred Carter Jr. 45 on Monument with one variation of the promo collectors are paying much more for.

Why are you so fixated on values?
If you wanna sell a 45 here put it for best offer or auction. Or use eBay.
By the way, I will now charge a consultation fee regarding value estimates for collectible 45s. Flat fee of $50 payable before providing an estimate.
