Might thy aural newbies tickle my eye

These 3 are highlights for me over the last few weeks.
Bumps - I have never seen this for sale before, which is absurd considering Piccadilly is not generally a tuff label to collect. Of course I do miss tons of stuff all the time due to mentul retardation and sloth....

Nick Hoffman - this 45 was harder to find than any of the Dovers 45s...(for me, and I was a-lookin' for a long, long time)

Absolutely thrilled to receive this huge and much sought-after want of mine, due to the ultra-splendid generosity of a forum member from the Euro Zone....it is rumoured that a bosshoss never forgets!! :sunny:

Ah, good, at least now I can stop worrying about not bidding higher on this one. It would have been futile anyway. Congrats to this great side!

Sorry you missed out this time Gregor. I lose a lot of bids though, unless I decide I'm not going to lose. With The Bumps, I decided I was not going to lose. You can see my latest page of eSnipe results here, showing that I lose more times than I win....

Total bids = 13, wins = 5, outbids = 8

Did you offer the seller of the Nick Hoffman $300 to end the auction early, like 30 minutes before the time it was supposed to end?

No Chris. I never, ever do that. Maybe I did once or twice in the wild eBay early days, but not in the last 10 years.
What happened was this - I had a snipe bid of something like $900 on the record, but suddenly the auction was pulled early. I thought someone had done just what you suggested. A few days later I tuned into eBay and happened to notice that the record had been re-listed as a BuyItNow for $499. So, I BoughtItThen.

If the seller is reading this, it doesn't mean the record is worth $900. It just means that I really didn't want to lose that auction and wait another 10 years for a clean copy.

Late last year there was activity regarding Bumps - Please Come Down disc, there were two sales coming from the same seller.
And one from Greg P. that I shamefully forgot to bid on.

A couple of long time wants that I finally grabbed. Very glad both arrived in pristine condition.

This is one of the Texas records on my list that I'm glad I scratched off, long time favorite,TS fave and that scream hunted me since the first time I heard it!

This I discovered the first time I ever listened to any of the TS comps. Been a long time want. I really did not expected that flip...horns??? i like it though.

there are a couple more waiting to be delivered.

Got this a little ways back as a BIN. The seller also has the other release by them up as well. Not sure if there's quantity on this but it's a great tune and I thought $85 was a decent price.

By the way, that Nick Hoffman disc RULES Boss! Is this rarer than the high priced Dovers records?

It is great! I'm not sure how rare it really is, but I had great difficulty obtaining a copy. By comparison, all of the Dovers 45s practically fell into my hands years ago from various sources (at a price of course). I used to think I knew a lot about the rarity of garage 45s, but these days I'm not so confident. You need to be seeing other collectors to keep on top of things. With 45s going on sale at Facebook etc, I just don't follow that scene, and even eBay is messed up compared to the way it used to be. Plus, I've been hideously distracted from the quest over the last 5 years.

Your IV Pak looks like a top copy! Congratulations.

Hope it don't take me 10 years to find a copy...
Your IV Pak looks like a top copy! Congratulations.

Thanks. The seller says it never took it out from the paper sleeve it was found on a estate sale. I have a feeling he may have found some quantity on this record, this is I think the fifth copy he has sold since last year April. Has this been found in quantity before?

The IV Pak record was found in a small quantity. I got one last year from someone with the same story about estate find.

There was a Bumps 45 for sale in a local record store a month or so ago, the seller put it on ebay, I might have been the one to suggest he do that. I don't know if the recent ebay sale is one of the copies at issue here. The record turns up around here, I guess it was one of the few records on the label that sold most of the copies rather than warehouse them. There are a few M- copies in collections (I have one), it's a record that several people who are not part of the garage collectors circle have, for the local interest and the quality.

Moerer had at least one NM Reddlemen at $150 BIN quite recently and it seems to be on ebay in clean condition any other week. The availability doesnt appear to impact the price, though.

I was having a relaxing Saturday at home. An amazing 26+ celsius in Oslo, one of the maximum of three days a year we get that temperature up here nowadays.

Then suddenly, a firm knock on the door. It was Summer Claus!

Suddenly plans were altered, family discarded and a firm trot down to the dungeon ensued.

Proper gear fitted before entering the ManCave

While this racket was-a-happening in one part of the room, a different movement could be felt in a corner not far away. Amongst el-spagetti & strange 45s from Southern Europe, a muffled sound could be heard from behind a door.

What secrets where to be discovered inside? A feeling of long lost love and the end of a quest became overwhelming to those present in the room

"At last, I am free!" After spending 45 years apart, The Picture Sleeve finally dared to hope. Could it really be..?

"My long lost vinyl brother. United at last!" Some wept, a short speech was held and wine of superior quality was enjoyed by all.

This would not have been possible without the kindness of a man whom I shall remain ever grateful to. Thank you.

Enjoying this little slice of NC goodness. Perfect blend of R&B and garage. Not sure if this might be to its detriment to most as its not enough of either to most ears...?? Thoughts?

This next two discs probably conclude my record binge for the first part of the year. Summer is upon us in the northeast and my money will grow thinner enjoying the sun I didn't get for the past seven months. Ok.

This record wasn't on my list, but ran into it on a BIN so I grabbed it, I first thought it was the BFTG version, but then I realized it was the other version, slower one which i really quite like!
There is the REJECT WOL that I suppose the band wrote in order to give way to the the new pressing, or maybe a radio local station, I really don't know. If somebody has any info about this pressing will be greatly appreciated!!!

Now, this ONE was on my wish list. another awesome tune outta TS that I had little hope in getting, but I won the bid, so I'm happy. It is not in great condition but it plays good and at least it has no WOL or tears, the flip side has more scuffs in the wax but it also plays good.
