Been awhile! A small mountain of 45s have arrived & I thought I´d spam this thread with some label scans again. Picking the more odd ones of the latest arrivals.
First off, my favorite Albert Washington 45 (so far) & a lovely Rite pressing to boot. Is this a sped up lift from Howlin´Wolf´s
Who´s been talking? Either way both are great. Got a good price since Americans are scared of Euroman dealers.
Captain Foam was one of the winners (for me) from the the recent
Bonehead Crunchers comp. I gave the lp away in disgust over the horrible cover color and the rather uneven track selection so I better start saving up for the 45s I like on it. This wash´t too expensive and packs a punch!
Quite a primitive disc that I know nothing about. Good entertainment for the price.
This isn´t garage, more Hair/hippie exploitation but with a winning fuzz sound & a strong vocalist. I have a weak spot for these kind of 45s. Flip is an instro hammond(?) version that made me laugh.
I bow my head in admiration and respect for this song. So strong. Deserves more exposure.
Where were these guys from? Since it´s not on the Forth Worth comps I assume they are from elsewhere. Strange it is not comped (well, as far as I know & comps ain´t my strong side. Pfft?) It´s got a pretty cool guitar theme throughout.
Yes! I did not pay attention when BW (as older forum posts suggest) had quantity of this. Can anyone confirm? Personal fave from the Frantic comp that JoeyD put out. Pretty hammered but plays great.
Twilight zone disc from early 80s that has the 60s garage song formula and attitude but done in a way that is not part of the retro scene (at least I don´t think so) Should have been 2 minutes shorter but still a fun discovery
As with the above disc, fab 60s blueprint & cheap to score.
Another post-Initial Shock disc and hinting on the raw sound that the Invaders 45 would display many years later. Can you get more catch phrases squeezed onto a label? A savage rock experience! 1971?
Good and pleasant version. At least I think so but then I´m overtly fond over cover/version/whatever 45s
I like both this and the Musicor version a lot. Also the Fabulous Denos cut a killer disc with this song (I think he was a member?)
Been humming this periodically since I first heard it on Electric Sugarcube Flashbacks back when I was still a young man. A pretty affordable 45, finally managed to pucker up and push the button
Fab 45 rotting away on a Quagmire volume. Someday I´ll re-boot vol.3-5 with excellent sound and label scans as a forum giveaway (Can´t afford to do this with vol 1 & 2!)
Stellar r&b/garage´ish instrumental!
And last but not least (or probably least to some, haha!) Power riff-o-rama deluxe with a shockingly incompetent backing track (at times) A 45 that both provides goose bumps and a good laugh. Flip
Spectre more "known" but a tad too long.
Thank you and good night!
Cheers,
Thomas
