A FUZZ-GUITAR CASCADIAN CACHE!

• UNEARTHED REELS FROM SALEM OREGON’S GARLAND RECORDS!
• CUT BY KEVIN GRAY, AND PRESSED ON BLUE VINYL AT THIRD MAN PRESSING IN DETROIT!
• A RAUCOUS MIX OF ORIGINALS, COVERS, COVETED RARITIES AND UNISSUED MONSTERS!
The drive’s cranked all the way up and the needle’s fully in the red for this set of uptempo garage-punk stompers from Salem’s enigmatic Garland Records. Packed with killer, crunchy bass, pummeling drums, in-your-face vocals, and (of course) mountains of fuzz-guitar! Loaded primarily with originals, plus distorted deviations of select known numbers, all ranging from impossibly rare to previously unreleased! CD includes two bonus cuts not available on the LP.

With Sundazed Music’s acquisition of the Garland Records catalog, you’re in for a coastal flood of great garage rock, pysch, soul, and even some country. But it all starts here with Pacific Northwest Fuzz Box, named after the commonly used distortion pedals that (at least according to our ears) can be heard reverberating through your speaker cones on every track.

UNRELEASED DANK GARAGE PNW NUGS!

• UNEARTHED REELS FROM SALEM OREGON’S GARLAND RECORDS!
• CUT BY KEVIN GRAY, AND PRESSED ON DANK GREEN VINYL AT THIRD MAN PRESSING IN DETROIT!
• A PECULIAR MIX OF COVETED RARITIES AND UNISSUED HALLUCINATIONS
From the thriving hotbed of sixties garage and psychedelia of the PNW and Salem’s orphic Garland Records comes this potent cache of rare and previously unreleased recordings. Chiefly composed of moody and mellow folk rockers and ethereal groovers, there are also a few far-out, heady reconstructions of familiar faves. CD includes two bonus cuts not available on the LP. Be warned, these hooks are very sticky!

With Sundazed Music’s acquisition of the Garland Records catalog you’re in for a tidal wave of great garage rock, pysch, soul, and even some country. Here with Pacific Northwest Stash Box, you’re treated to hook laden cuts that sound laced with a little something, and not just “Life Laced Leaf!”

I have to get these - '60s garage comps are few and far apart these days.
BUT: What really bugs me about these (and many other older Sundazed comps) is that the vinyl buyers get fewer tracks than the CD buyers. I get that there's room for more music on a CD than on an LP, but how difficult would it be to include a copy of the CD (in a plastic wallet) with the LP? It would cost them next to nothing, and the vinyl customers, who are already paying almost double of what the CD costs, would be happy.

I was a little disappointed by these. So far, some of the best stuff on the label is missing.

Zero End - Lid To Go/Hey Joe
Dart - Genevieve
Ray Spencer - Genevieve
Mourning Reign - Reach Out I'll be There
New Dawn - Why Did You Go?

Hopefully, these will be on the next two volumes.

I have all the singles, so I only bought these for the unreleased stuff. So, I'm not disappointed for myself.

I just think that this would have been stronger as a total of 2 volumes. That could been accomplished by removing some of the filler and adding the above. That's what I'll do in making my own comp.

Just my two cents.

That's the overstatement of the millennium. You're getting the idea of a Back From The Grave vol 11...

If you're into 67+ riff-rock with ear rings and the smell of hashish, this is your bag. But don't market this as a "uptempo garage-punk stompers killer garage fuzz monster". You're only getting people pissed off.
I blame the cellar rats for not EATING these "lost tapes" after all these years.

Footnote:
And hey, please don't litter the world with a "volume two". We got a planet to save.

Sample before you buy: the snippets say it all! However, it will take someone with more patience than me to get through all the fillers...

Could you find any "in-your-face vocals"?

I guess it would be easier to find "a mountain of fuzz" or the Lochness Monster.

Just recieved the STASH BOX CD. It's awful. Just a bunch of crappy lounge acts. DO NOT BUY!

"hook laden cuts that sound laced with a little something" Did you find lots of hooks? And what was the little something they were laced with - excrement?
