R.I.P. Eric Carmen. Dead at 74.

Sorry to hear that. I saw the re-formed Raspberries in Atlantic City, N.J. in this Century
and they rocked the roof off. Eric still had his 70s voice, but had some weird kind of
facelift or something that made him (unfortunately) resemble racist icon David Duke.
Wally Bryson looked a lot like the "Uncle Fester" character from the original Adams
Family
series, but brought all of his old 'Berries'-era Gibsons along including the
Flying V and the 6/12 double-neck and played them better than ever. The other
guys also brought their 'A-game' and played all the hits and some unexpected
covers including "I Can't Explain", "Baby's In Black" and "It's Cold Outside" (with
Dave Smalley singing lead). A good time was had by all. I've always enjoyed Eric's
1969 Epic single by Ohio's #1 Mods THE QUICK where they channeled the
"Ogden's Nut Gone" Small Faces and early Spooky Tooth to good result. R.I.P to
one of the Buckeye State's finest:

I just uploaded the unreleased 1969 Cyrus Erie demos in case anyone would like to hear them (before they, perhaps, get taken down):

That used to be taken down within' minutes. It remain now. Seems like Eric may have taken it down himself before thru YT copyright rules, because he hated those songs from what I heard.
Rest In Peace to the man!

As expected, they have been taken down now, by Don Ladanyi, the manager of Cyrus Erie (and owner of several Cleveland clubs). I'm assuming he's the one who hold the rights to these recordings.

It would surprise me if Eric hated these tracks, he has spoken favourably about "Cindy In The Wind" in interviews as being his take on "Walk Away Renee" and all of these demos were slated for release on a 2013/2014 Sony Legacy compilation called "Eric Carmen - The Early Years" that never materialised. But who knows?

I think it's a pity that these tracks haven't been released officially, "Wish You Were Here" and "Cindy In The Wind" are fabulous.
