Surprise, surprise - idle chatter about TBM

Re the entry for the Violations on Dot: Turns out this is the Pharoahs after splitting from Sam the Sham in 1966 due to disagreements with management. The liner notes to Light In The Attic's new release of Pharoahs' guitarist Ray Stinnett's unreleased '71 LP for A&M lay it all out.

Mike, very nice having you along for a car ride this afternoon.
Well ... you and my hero Wild Bill Kelly of WFMU radio, the Godfather of Garage.
Let me clarify ... Mike was guesting on Bill Kelly's show The Teenage Wasteland today.
Excellent interview with some rare/neat sounds (Thank You Mike)
Hey check it out it's archived at WFMU: Teenage Wasteland Playlists and Archives

Thanks for listening. It was a lot of fun.
Took some hoofing via mass transit to get to the studios in Jersey City, so I didn't get home til after 10PM.
I never plan out what I'm going to say / talk about, so I hope the banter was lively at least.

Great!
I had suspected Ray was involved, but never turned up information. Ron Hall, the expert of the Memphis scene, stated that the Violations never played out locally, so it must have been a studio-type outfit.

Although nothing to do with the above... Mike I heard you on Bill Kelly's radio show.... James Bond and The Agents almost killed me, I listened to that track at least 4 times in a row, just to get over the shock of hearing it.

ALSO... please please please release The Tyme - Cry For The Trees.... a song which physically made me feel weird inside and burst into cry.

Yeah, James Bond & The Agents was the track that caused TW to have a semi-stroke and declare planning for a Grave Vol. 9.

Unfortunately, "Cry For the Trees" is MIA - the only surviving copy of the acetate has been lost. Land Of 1,000 Dances was transferred from a high quality cassette for BFTG Vol. 7. "Cry for the Trees" was not transferred in high quality at the time - just dubbed to a normal bias cassette. The sound is pretty "boxy" and all midrange-y, not good enough to release.

That WFMU show was fantastic! I sincerely hope all those uncomped killers don't stay uncomped for long.
It's a shame that the Tyme acetate isn't good enough to release, it's a killer! Here's a downloadable file of the song, for those of you who want to listen to it again and again (like I do):

Oh, and that Flight Reaction song is awesome. Best new stuff I've heard in a long while.

I agree with all the guys here: the James Bond & the Agents' track is awesome (and I can't explain the rating so low in TBM..)
Anyway I hope to listen to it soon on a physical format (BFTG or TS)!
