Some photos of a Catholic school band, Jan. '66 and a year or so later:

This dork was taking lessons from the Brian Jones school of cruel cool:

According to a Kim Fowley interview Brian Jones was kind of extreme in wanting to protect animals having stolen P.J. Proby's cat 'cause he didn't think he'd look after it, and there was also some story about a goat falling in love with him and following him around after he'd stopped some other guys from running around with it holding it's back legs! Picking small cats up by the fur at the back of the neck is actually safe and how the mother cats do it, but not good for bigger cats.

Ok, Brian was nice to animals, not so much to his girlfriends. Something about the cigarette, sunglasses, booze and kitty makes this photo look a little menacing.

I do like the looks of that radio behind him.

I tried to post to Garage Hangover but I'm not sure it submitted. I think this is the same group: http://www.vandalsreunion.com/. I interviewed them a while back. They recorded a ton ('Wet & Wild' and 'Mustang Georgie') and released some singles. Great find.

Yeah but, when they outright refuse to wear the Playboy bunny outfits... no, I know he was a horrid piece of work in some ways (didn't live long enough to put on white suits and become an icon of peace), and maybe the Vandal guy is trying to be Stoneish there, just maybe more like Keith.

Hi Mike, your comment is up there - there's a delay for approval, 'cause of spam comments that get past the Captcha. Same group for sure, though I'm not sure about the later pics I've found. "A Reason" is excellent, - have you heard their entire CD? How's the unreleased stuff?

I do have the CD, Chris, but I haven't listened to it since 2003. I do recall liking most if it; I think it's time for a revisit...

Interesting photo. To me it looks like the cool guy accidentally sat on the cat, it got stuck and he had to quickly pull it out. The guy with the stick may have been trying to prize the cat out. Another guy is offering the cool guy a shot of vodka to ease the shock and pain.
