Frustrating story that ties in to this. In Buffalo, there was a club called Gilligans where the Detroit bands all played---Stooges, MC5, etc, etc. Fast forward to the 90s. A friend of mine working is working in a record store. Old hippy guy comes in, says he used to be sound guy at Gilligans, has the tapes. And of course, he never shows again, no contact info....I live in the hope that they someday surface like this did.

Ron Asheton's lead break on TV Eye is just as scorching (or even better) than the Funhouse LP version. I agree with Funhouse being one of the greatest LPs of all time, especially side ONE! :boggle:. But overall I like the Seeds first LP better, as it does not contain a single dud track. LA Blues lets Funhouse down a little in my estimation, but I can understand others loving it. I always skip over it.

Fun House is one of my favourites of all time as well. L.A.Blues is brilliant and fitting conclusion. This disc should be perfect companion to Ungano release.

I seen the Stooges and MC5 on the same bill ... October 31, 1970. The MC5 had the top billing. The Stooges' set was cut short midway into the concert. Unfortunately a few hooligans started throwing bottles onto the stage and something hit Iggy in the forehead. Ron Asheton slammed his guitar unto the stage flooring and the band walked off. The MC5, they had the largest stack of amplifiers I had ever seen at the time. When they started to play I swear the amp's were cranked to 11. My ears were still ringing three days after the concert.

Did anyone heard/have opinion about this set? https://www.discogs.com/ru/The-Stooges-You-Dont-Want-My-Name-You-Want-My-Action/release/2728397

This is from "lost period" between Elektra and Columbia and all of those songs were not released/or recorded in the studio save for I Got Right. I'm wary of sound quality..
I have it, though it's been awhile since I listened. The sound quality varies from so-so to atrocious. There's a lot of Iggy taunting girls in the audience, but the riffing is cool. I'll dig it out.
