A friend of mine found this acetate the other day at an estate sale in Northern NJ. There's no info on the labels, so the song title is assumed:

I can't find it in the song title index of Mike's book so am assuming this one went unreleased. Anyone have a clue who it might be? I think the song is pretty solid and would rank at least a 6 on Mike's scale.

You should go back to the house where it was bought or call the Estate sale company and ask some questions. It may have a link to the owners. I give it a 5.5. I bet you it's by a solo artist with a backing band.

I should also mention there were some acetates in the house by the Knockouts, who did some doo wop and R&B records in the very late-50s to mid-60s including the "Go Ape With The Knockouts" LP in '64.

Find out who the lead singer of the Knockouts was. You might have your guy.

5.5 seems pretty high. don't think too much of it. past the prime of the garage peak, i think. oh yeah, dig the flute...:screwy: agree with 3, tops. starts like a fresh cool breeze, but slowly turns into smelly breath.

I admit there's a handful ok tunes featuring a flute (like of the Outsiders tho definitly not Color me Columbus). Still, to my ears, the clarinette sucks.. same goes for solo violin, btw...
