USA 856 The Great Society ebay ... thoughts on this new listing ?

i'd go for a low starting bid. otherwise you(?)'ll scare off potential buyers.

generally, i'd rather go for the "instant read digital temple thermometer" that the seller offers. for $15.49 it's the far better deal.:bucks!:

Bob of Sundazed Records had a spare near mint copy of I"m The One For You" and had it available at an Allentown 45rpm record show around 5 years ago. He purchased it along with a smattering of random USA label 45s from one of the label producers. I recall he had $2,000 on it and it sold.

It is extremely rare, but not rated very highly by most collectors, those who prefer to spend 2K on a 45 with a higher musical quality factor / garage-o-meter rating. The $219 documented selling price is a bargain / steal, even if the disc graded no higher than VG. I paid $800 for a VG copy back in '96, the first time the 45 surfaced to anyone's knowledge. It was part of a small garage 45s collection that was being pieced out to collectors in the loop; many Chicago / midwest USA 45s were up for grabs.

I would buy the copy currently offered as well if I had the $$$$ to upgrade my collection copy.

One has to wonder how much dropping such buzzwords in auctions really helps the seller. One the one hand, I guess it would because it would turn up in keyword searches, but beyond that, it usually makes the seller look like they're clueless since the usual buzzwords for garage or psych records have been so over abused as to be virtually worthless (especially the words garage and psych themselves).
These days, when you see a seller name dropping G45, Acid Archives, TBM, or whatever, it looks rather like an updated version of a seller feigning knowledge of the record with the old "this record books for (filled in inflated value)" line.

'I'm The One For You' is a classic and one of my all-time favorite songs. It'd be a must have if I collected 45s.
