Anyone planning on attending the 3-day record fair in Brooklyn, NY this upcoming weekend?
I will be there on Friday and Saturday, helping out dealer friends who have a couple of tables.

Copies of both TeenBeat Mayhem and the last handful of copies of Beyond TeenBeat Mayhem will be offered for sale at at special low price.
I will also have a box of my usual mix of 60s garage, soul, and other oddballs, better / higher price and 45s marked at half price.

Wish I could provide more details, such as our exact table location, but the people responsible for putting on the record fair seem to do absolutely zero promotion outside of random social media posts. They also have not put up the listing of all the dealers and the types of records, etc they sell on the webpage. The page notes that the dealer list will be posted a week in advance. It is now Wednesday. There is simply no excuse for the lack of posting the dealer list, other than being lazy and not really caring. And don't get me started on the half-assed methodology employed for the dealer load-in.

This show used to be a fun event, promoted, etc. Now it seems the folks in charge believe all they need to do is rely on the radio station's image to make people aware of the event. Sadly, this will not bring people into Brooklyn like it did when the show had a place in Manhattan.

I'll be there at table G24 but only on Saturday.

The dealer list is up now as a PDF at https://wfmu.org/recfair/rf_dlrlist.html

Mike, I agree with all your points. The Friday load in is a joke, two years ago they made everyone wait 2 hours on the pavement, many of us with our cars parked illegally, so the station truck with dollar LPs could get through traffic and load in before everyone else. The station takes 1/4 of the space to sell their donated LPs and crowds everyone else into the rest.

Even though I paid up months ago, my spot is in the very last row next to the food, next to an end table selling disco and boogie.

At least R.L Boyce will be playing live at 2.

To say something nice about WFMU, though, when Hurricane Sandy caused the cancellation of the show in 2012, the fair organizers held a smaller fair in Brooklyn and charged only $10 to cover the table rental. It was a very good fair and a generous thing for them to do.

I hope by "giving away" you mean "sell at inflated prices and mail to Marcofunk towards inevitable chargeback".
