Anyone planning on attending the 3-day record fair in Brooklyn, NY this upcoming weekend?
I will be there on Friday and Saturday, helping out dealer friends who have a couple of tables.
Copies of both TeenBeat Mayhem and the last handful of copies of Beyond TeenBeat Mayhem will be offered for sale at at special low price.
I will also have a box of my usual mix of 60s garage, soul, and other oddballs, better / higher price and 45s marked at half price.
Wish I could provide more details, such as our exact table location, but the people responsible for putting on the record fair seem to do absolutely zero promotion outside of random social media posts. They also have not put up the listing of all the dealers and the types of records, etc they sell on the webpage. The page notes that the dealer list will be posted a week in advance. It is now Wednesday. There is simply no excuse for the lack of posting the dealer list, other than being lazy and not really caring. And don't get me started on the half-assed methodology employed for the dealer load-in.
This show used to be a fun event, promoted, etc. Now it seems the folks in charge believe all they need to do is rely on the radio station's image to make people aware of the event. Sadly, this will not bring people into Brooklyn like it did when the show had a place in Manhattan.
