Yeah, talk about typing hell...there was no worthwhile database option when I began TBM, I mention this aspect in the BTBM intro. Each chapter / section has been manually keyed in to a visual document form (MS Word)
I was told early on that I should hire a fast typist to just key in data - not into a database, but just as one huge file that could be loaded into a database once set up. Problem with that, besides the prohibitive cost to pay someone, was the typist would not have any knowledge or connection to my project, and therefore might make quick assumptions based viewing incorrect spelling, grammar, etc. The cons outweighed the pros so I opted to do things the difficult way. I did try to use a spell check but that often corrected data that I wanted to keep intact.
The BTBM sorted list by song title with ratings breakdown - I wasn't really concerned with that since it was not considered important for song title "preciseness" - just a master list, for me, to tally ratings that would be incorporated into a huge ranking list. I received many requests to print the entire list, but didn't have the stamina to proof the entire list.
I've since been going thru everything as I update, then merge TBM / BTBM plus new entries per each alpha-letter. Obviously, I can't hope to catch every single typo / gaff in the BTBM song title list, so anyone who'd like, please feel free to alert me - just list the problem song title, and I will correct it.
