Hey kids! Collect The Whole Set!

These guys started out SO STRONG & in tragically short order it all went wobbly. This overview defines my read on the bands high grade output, inclusive of the two non- LP flips. 100% ***** to my ears...

Though I'm on the wrong forum with this one, I love "Take the fast train"! Big, crunchy riffs, booming out of the speakers.

These labels look very similar. I haven't checked every disc, but most of them seem to be TX or LA releases. Does anyone know what ties these 45s together, apart from the appearance of their labels? They also look just like the Sea Ell labels above.

All pressed by Houston Records. The font in the label name is called Tower.

These are spectacular. Through sheer luck I have the Canadian Rogues, but to own Jackson Investment Co. I consider nigh on impossible. Too bad modboy disappeared, I think he once mentioned having quite a few of the PT photo inserts.

Seems likely that almost all of the 45s came with the picture insert up until they switched to picture sleeves
I have Canadian Rogues, Swaydes, Early Americans, Inner Thoughts, seen a couple others like missing Links and Maundy Quintet inserts. Saw a non-garage insert for the John Lee Four, dealer was ransoming the insert and sleeve for $500.

Which version is tougher to find - the label reading The Hunted like in the Bosshoss group shot, or the label with the correct spelling The Haunted from soundog III's snapshot?
I've seen quite a few Haunteds, but not many Hunteds.
Rarer still, or at least pricier, is the Amy 45 release which has the uncensored verse. So there are at least 3 versions - LP, Quality 45 and Amy 45.

Another Indiana set. Only 3 uniformly excellent garage records were released by this label. Most of the other Staff releases are gospel, soul and bluegrass. The centrepiece was previously owned by Tim Warren and is the copy used for Back From The Grave Vol. 4 ("I Said Move" ) and the flip side was used on BFTG Vol. 5 ("Little Streets In This Town").

Gary, Indiana had(s) a large African-American population; that might explain the tilt towards gospel and soul releases on Staff. The steel mills of Gary also attracted all manner of folks from Southern states to migrate up to Northwestern Indiana (much as Detroit, Michigan did with the auto industry) - those factory jobs offered many folks a shot at a well-paying job.

Here's the Skoop label for Howling' Hoosier. Moptopmike posted this set years ago on one of the forums, but it's about time it had a second coming

Santa Claus, Indiana is home to Holiday World (formerly Santa Claus Land, one of the oldest amusement parks in the U.S.). If you like rollercoasters (after trying in vain to locate those pesky Skoop and Showboat 45s in the wilds of Southern Indiana), Holiday World has 3 really great coasters that always make the lists of best in the U.S.

Cheaped out w/ the repro on this. $$$ deployed to better effect elsewhere...
