Marksmen Enterprise 45.

I only know of 4 copies. I've owned 3 of them and nearly owned all 4. Two are wrecked.

Copy 1 - I sold to Doug White - it barely played due to rampant surface noise
Copy 2 - I purchased from the band's manager, vg minus with a deep scratch on "But Why" - gave it to a friend when I upgraded to copy 3
Copy 3 - My current copy, came from an Adelaide hoarder and was earlier used for It's A Kave-In and other comps, pretty nice.
Copy 4 - The eBay copy, the best of the lot, found by Discovery records 8-10 years ago, offered to me for $3k, which I rejected, sold to Brett Leslie and now to Michael.

Thanks for the info Mark - one update to this, a friend of mine, Andy Crosbie, possesses a fifth copy, discovered in the early to mid '80s. His (Andy's) collection of Australiana rivals Mark's infinite collection!

So I got a 25% discount - cool. :tiphat: I went to Discoveries a few times - it was a big shop near Hornsby railway station. Never found anything good there and I suspect it was the kind of second hand record shop where they only put out common stuff and hold back the obscure and oddball looking labels for themselves. Did your Adelaide copy come via Nick G, Mark? Because I heard he got a mint copy from an Adelaide hoarder.

Yes, that's the one. But it's not mint, more like vg+ plays near perfect. Not quite as good as yours. I don't think Brett paid $3k, I think he ended up paying more like $1800 from a rumour I heard.

There's always one or two out there in the wilderness! But still, I woud be seriously surprised if there are ever more than 10 known copies of the Marksmen, when the dust settles.

Hi Mark, I don't doubt that there are only ten copies out there, I was trying to see how many we can think of. :crap:
