you guys are weird. IMO it's def tepid for the sound, but there are a bunch of these kinda popcorn/rockabilly/soul hybrids with fuzz guitar that DJs play because people respond to them. you guys always bitching about "mod" spins, but it's actually somewhat difficult to find a garage 45 that doesn't have some awkward pause or changeup in the middle that makes people stop dancing and sit down unless you put a fair amount of effort into it. at least if you're playing music for people used to dancing to soul music. shit like this has the same raw white soul vibe without some mood killer in the middle. it's also not played out like the obvious car commercial r&b picks like SONICS or whatever.
half of my friends are soul music collectors/DJs, i'm often surprised at what "killer garage 45s" can do to a dancefloor: empty it.
