Not based on anything real or planned, I've been wondering recently what would constitute the best, most satisfactory method for reissuing 60s garage 45s. Here's what my personal pipe session conjured...
Teenbeat Mayhem Box Set (or could alternatively be G45 Box Set) consisting of
30 boxed sets mastered from original 45s in BHQS10, covering the entire TBM or G45 top 1000
each boxed set containing
* A gatefold double LP with liner notes and photos, 8 tracks from the TBM top 1000 (or the upcoming G45 list) on each of the 4 sides = 32 tracks
* The same 32 tracks issued as exact repro 45s, complete with flipsides (and a small "repro" id on the label)
* A CD of the same 32 tracks, possibly with a basic cardboard jacket, with a photo but no liners.
Don't get excited or anything. This is just a pipe dream. But I'd be interested to hear what people think.
