a cc title for that thread, issued from another forum.... but i thought that such a thread was missing there... always interesting to know what the other members are spinining right now !

will start with what's been on the player regulary since it's out.... but I guess that everybody's now aware of that great LP ? One of my fave releases this year so far... heartfully recommended.
Out on Feathered Apple Rds

I was kinda disappointed at that one. It looks fantastic, is official, and I'm sure it has the best possible sound quality. But there are too many 'meh' cover versions.
The packaging is perfect, but music-wise I much prefer the JuJus comp on Break-a-Way.

Brilliant 2LP compilation! Amazing gatefold cover with pics of all the 45's, DMM mastering, but oddly enough zero liners... 500 copies only.

I have a recently purchased Wizards From Kansas original on the player right now. Always liked it and of course the orig sounds warmer and spacier than any reissue I've heard. Good dark'n'trippy guitar psychedelia with no trace of sludge, and some countryish rock thrown in aswell, which I also have a soft spot for.

Aka - "Hard Beat"

Another great tip from my good friend mr.segment. :)
heavy psychsounding funky indonesian progtrip. One of my fav buys this summer.

I need this one!
This is on Stones Throw, right? I can highly recommend their 3LP Indo comp from earlier this year. Very cool stuff - and cheap, too!

Gotta second Bard's recommendations for Muziek Express (great music but as Bard pointed out, no liners) and Those Shocking Shaking Days, which may be the best comp I've picked up this year.

Recently scored a mono original of the Blue Things LP and I think I prefer this mix as you can actually hear the bass lines, which are very McCartneyesque in spots, and it seems there's more presence in the harmonies.

That AKA Hard Beat LP looks pretty good also.

The Plastic Cloud - S/T

Amazing canadian psych from '68. Dreamlike lyrics, sounds like J.R.R. Tolkien has had a big influence on the writer. Music is folkish sounding, BUT, with a big amount of fuzz!! (Sidenote: The thing that the guy on the left is holding is a pet spider, their mascot, called Gazoink)

The Electric Prunes - Stockholm '67

What can one say about The Electric Prunes? Only good things. Really shows that they were great on stage, according to the lead singer this was recorded on a "bad night", how did they sound on a great night? I think that Ken is extremely underrated, just listen to his work on "Smokestack Lightning" and "Got My Mojo Working". Great album! Filled with a psych-blues.

Listening to The-Merry-Go-Round on original A & M stereo vinyl.
Keep putting the stylus back on "Had To Run Around".
I am a sucker for heartbroken catch-in-the-throat plaintative ballads ya know.

I picked this up too, really nice package and the folk sides were interestingly out of date with the times elsewhere.

My replay button lives in fear of Merry-Go-Round and Emitt Rhodes CDs!

I'm listening to WFMU's Rock and Soul Ichiban internet radio. I can't imagine there's anything better to listen to on the net than this. 20 minutes in and I've heard Gino Washington, The Premiers and Rex Garvin, among others.

The Nova Local is a pretty cool band from NC- quite experimental. Bought a large collection of 60's & 70's Psych/Prog hard rock stuff. Some interesting pieces were in there, like the Pretty Things LP S.F. Sorrow, and the Hendrix produced Erie Apparent Sunrise, on Buddah.

Another is West Virginia's Mind Garage, on RCA- excellent Garage & Rock sounds!

Picked up a copy of the LP by Graffiti on ABC at half price books last night and am digging it. It is way better than I was hoping plunking down my $8... Pretty decent hard psych flavors....

Just got an upgrade copy of this. Love it! And "Can You See Me" is a great moody number that has the same charm as The Chessmen's 'Sad' ... but most of you knew that already.

What's up Eric! I was in Houston over the weekend. We should have hung out although I was pressed for time.

Just finished up The Barbarians on Laurie mono LP.
Now listening to Lost Souls Vol. 3 CD.
Far more consistent and entertaining than the previous volume IMO.

Aw man! You should have come by! With your double of the Brik's 45 for me! HA!

The new, upcoming Higher State album Freakout at the Gallery! It will be hitting the streets at the end of October.
The Remains - Let Me Through 45 on Sundazed. Live version taken from their appearance on the Ed Sullivan show.
Also been digging the new Turkish Freakout volume 2. If you are a fan of Turkish Psych it comes highly recommended. Included with the double lp set is a killer 2 song 45 from Edip Akbayram.

I just ordered Turkish Freakout 2. I loved the first one, although the pressing was pretty noisy.
Yesterday evening i spun this one:

Amazing comp of super-obscure Brazilian garage. Lovely gatefold cover, too. Sound-quality is pretty rough here and there, but I guess minty copies of these obscurities are hard to come by...
