Speaking of Andrew Loog Oldham. This is often underrated, but managers like Epstein, Oldham, Albert Grossman, Kit Lambert were a major inventive force behind what became 60s pop culture. Without those guys things wouldn't have been the same. They turned it into something big and trendy. Even or especially what we call garage would probably not have happened, not in the boom-like way it did.

Axel, I seem to recall that you like to read autobiographies (?), if so you should check out ALO's 'Stoned' and '2Stoned' - great anecdotes + the guy can really write. Overall very entertaining stuff, if a bit self indulgent. Without him, no Malcolm Mclaren or Alan McGee (Creation) for that matter.

I got Beau Brummels '66 in a trade once and it is well done if fairly pointless, but I still have it which I can't say for the second Astronauts album of covers (A-Ok I think was the title), so I guess it can't be entirely forgettable, but definitely at the bottom of any Beau Brummels want list. The crazy thing is they had even more great originals in hand then that they could've put on an album for Warners, but maybe with The Mojo Men having a hit with Sit Down I Think I Love You on Warners it effected the record company guys' cash-register brains. The Mojo Men never even got to have an album on Warners. We're lucky all these unreleased originals survived for Sundazed and Big Beat to make available.

Suede jackets of the '60s... yeah, Chris Hillman in one was nice to see too! :rolleyes: I expect Mike Nesmith wore one a lot along with the Lewis & Clark Expedition, but probably all had that fringe. Arggh, Greg Brady flashback, m u s t tear eyes from h e a d n O W!

Since I started reading that Outsiders book from Misty Lane (and the one for Q65 from Ugly Things) I've been not only playing a lot of Nederbiet but getting even more of it! Actually that then led me to getting into the Yardbirds again which is about where I'm at today. There are some great tv show clips of the Outsiders floating around.

The new Lost Souls disc (3) and it's sweet so far (reaching track 14). Got a nice package yesterday with the Oscar & The Majestics LP, The Roosters LP, The Remains "Let Me Through", The Clique EP on Acid Jazz ('64 acetate), the new Psychedelic States CD (NY 3) and an ace polish 60's comp (Working Class Devils, mostly unreleased stuff, sort of a wrenchin' the wires 3).

The label is called Beat Road. I think it's from the same guys who put out the Wrenchin The Wires comps, but I'm not sure. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive.

Playing The Rockin' Ramrods - Best - Iris Music Group CD comp that I just got in the mail.
Excellent.
Been waiting to replace that old Eva comp of their stuff which I have had for many moons.
Have to be careful , though. There seem to be several other comps available which are extremely inferior in content ( can't speak to sound quality cuz I did not buy 'em ) but this one has 29 trax all 60s and all Ramrods not later lame hippy crap.

Got my copy of Working Class Devils from Craig Moerer today; looks like a good comp! Will spin it at some point this weekend.

Got the Time Lag vinyl reissue of Out Of The Bachs last week and I must say that Nemo did a fantastic job with this one; looks and sounds fantastic and renders all previous reissues worthless.

Not at all surprised, Bard. Financing for the Bachs reissue was done via Kickstarter and a lot of people got on board for this one; a lot of copies were sold in advance of its actual release this way. Were you able to get a copy from Nemo directly?

Well, sort of, but he wants $43, which is a bit steep. He mentioned 2 euro sellers who will get a few copies, so I'll try those first.
