What are you listening to and what do you have to say about it?

Philamore Lincoln - The North Wind Blew South.

Been digging this album a lot in the last month. I've actually found it kind of hard to listen to music lately. Getting dumped by girlfriend through 8 years thus having to move twice in the last 3 months. Along with finishing university and now trying to find a job in the midst of a fiscal crisis... This is one LP that calms me down.

Sorry to hear it, Andreas. Hope things will turn around soon.

Here's something to cheer you up, Andreas. I just can't get enough of this insanely catchy ditty:

Thanks, pfft. I just moved to a new flat yesterday and set up my turntable this morning. At least I know I can always count on my record player, my friends and of course the G45 forum.

Sorry to hear that, Andreas. Recently as I listened to some music I thought: I wonder if Andreas from the forum would like that. Unfortunately I forgot what it was...
I guess your feelings are way more complicated, but who knows maybe this is the right attitude to deal with it:

Oh, and here's something you might enjoy (maybe the one I forgot about?). A great album by the Troggs' guitarist. It's a bit hard to get though. The original is way too expensive, and even the Japanese CD reissue is quite rare. I bought mine directly from Japan. Hopefully someone will re-release on vinyl someday:

Thanks, Axel. I actually quite like Chris Britton, did not know of him before. Here's hoping for a vinyl reissue!

 Well, if you ever come to think of it, let me know.

I love that Young Men 45. That used to be my copy, and the brown background behind the scan of the record is the ceiling in our old house, 'cause my scanner had no lid.
That disc was for many years, completely lost off the face of the earth. Zero known copies.
I loved it so much, I decided that I would track it down somehow. I asked every collector I met, if they had ever seen a copy. The only known copy that was used to make the Eva Louisiana Punk #1 comp LP, went missing after the comp was made. It came from the David Shutt collection, and was sold to Hans Kesteloo. When Hans sold his entire collection to Jorgen, it was placed on a shelf awaiting sale via Jorgen's lists. But it went missing from the shelf. After much pestering and prying, Jorgen gave me the names of all the collectors who had been given access to the shelf over the period when the record went missing. It was with this information, that I eventually tracked down the movements of the 45 and finally found it and purchased it. After so many years, Jorgen didn't care any more...he was just pleased that someone had tracked it down.
A few years later a nicer copy showed up which I bought and still own, and now MTM owns the Kesteloo copy shown in the scan. Truly a legendary 45.

hmmmm.... in the last hour i've listened to roy jr-victim of circumstance, original dukes-ain't about to lose my cool, jay telfer-love, life & the pursuit of happiness , the pirates-cuttin out & just finished listening to the wheel a ways-bad little woman. all ferocious !!!!

Last night's playlist went from 11PM to 3AM, but the last few were Mikey Moody Mofos:

King Richard & The Knights "How About Now"
Kynds "So, If Someone Sends You Flowers Babe"
Kandells "Do You Know"
Kartune Kapers "On The Plane" (the most brilliant remake ever recorded!)
Koats Of Male "Swinebarn #3"

Records that's been out recently:
Kak
Churchill's
HMS Bounty
Alice Cooper - Pretties For You
The Deep
Psychedelic Unknowns #1
MC5 - 1st. Uncensored. I think it's almost as overrated as Sgt Pooper but I took it out to play "Motherfuckers!" for a buddy + show the hilarious liners. Got it on ebay for $9.99 many moons ago...

After a few month of searching, asking and listening I discovered the title of a song I was playing over and over without knowing the facts. "And now of my foolish pride I once more was a sun and hide in the shadow". After listening to all the songs with "tears" or "hide" or "shadow" I discovered it was called "In Love's Shadow". It is by a band called Mods from Mentor, Ohio - later known as The Choir. Wow, what a song! Moody as moody can be.

Just got the Pretty Things/Philippe DeBarge LP (UT) but haven't played it yet really... will probably blast it tomorrow while cleaning the house. The songs I've heard I like!

I got the CD, I should've gotten the LP... but still a real treasure! Especially compared to the earlier acetate transfer available.

After reading lotsa superlatives about the new Michigan Meltdown comp I bought a copy. Just played through it and I must say that apart from a coupla tracks that are entertaining, it's IMO mostly crap

Aren't you the same guy who compared the BEATLES to the AMERICAN BREED?
